Benchmark Sensex spurted by 454 points and Nifty closed above 23,300 on Monday following gains in banking stocks, mainly Kotak Mahindra Bank, and firm global trends.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 77073.44 up by 454.11 points or by 0.59 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23344.75 up by 141.55 points or by 0.61 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 77318.94 and intraday low of 76584.84 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 23391.1 and intraday low of 23170.65
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1919.60,+9.15%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 7437.70,+3.58%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 1734.60,+3.18%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 336.05,+2.96%), State Bank of India (Rs. 779.05,+1.96%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Zomato Ltd. (Rs. 240.95,-3.14%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1149.05,-1.23%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.
