Indian benchmarks continued to extend losses by trading nearly 500 points lower during the late noon trading session tracking the mixed in the Asian markets. On the sectoral front, auto, metal, oil & gas, media, power, realty, PSU Bank up 1-2 percent, while bank index down 0.5 percent.

Overseas, European stocks were slightly higher on Friday, with earnings and flash PMI readings in focus. The pan European STOXX 600 rose 0.3 percent to 552.37 but was on track for a small weekly loss following U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats.

Meanwhile, Asian stocks ended mixed on Friday as tariff worries offset investor optimism over China's artificial intelligence potential. China's Shanghai Composite index gained 0.85 percent to close at 3,379.11 on optimism toward the technology sector.

At 14:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75230.9 down by -505.06 points or by -0.67 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22783.1 down by -130.05 points or by -0.57 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 75748.72 and intraday low of 75112.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22921 and intraday low of 22720.30.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 140.50,+1.81%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3313.05,+1.15%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1700.30,+0.72%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 2217.50,+0.52%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 326.70,+0.48%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2665.90,-6.14%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1086.00,-2.30%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 674.55,-2.22%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 260.65,-1.94%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1641.60,-1.68%), among others.

Among the sectors, Metal index was at 29126.29 up by 282.63 points or by 0.98%. National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 199.50,+3.29%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 112.65,+2.55%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 652.60,+2.14%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 140.50,+1.81%), Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 436.90,+0.77%),.

On the flip side, HCS index was at 39630.27 down by -633.42 points or by -1.57%. Wockhardt Ltd. (Rs. 1318.25,-4.65%), Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4222 , shares advanced were 1718 while 2336 shares declined and 168 were unchanged.
