Indian equity indices closed lower on Friday, with auto and healthcare stocks suffering heavy losses due to concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats and continued foreign selling. The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indexes fell 1.2 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively.
Overseas, German stocks are moving in a narrow range in somewhat lackluster trade Friday morning with investors continuing to track earnings updates, and digesting German and Eurozone PMI data. U.K. stocks are mostly subdued Friday morning with investors making largely cautious moves while digesting data on the nation's manufacturing and services sector activity as well a report on retail sales.
In commodities, Oil prices traded lower on Friday but were on track for their best weekly performance since early January on increasing supply uncertainty. Benchmark Brent crude futures fell 0.7 percent to $75.92 in European trade while WTI crude futures were down 0.8 percent at $71.91.
Meanwhile, Gold prices fell on Friday but were set for an eighth week of gains amid lingering concerns over U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats and rising inflationary risks.
On the corporate front, share price of Central Depository Services Ltd (CDSL) gained 3.5 per cent today, to hit a high of Rs 1,294 per share on the National Stock Exchange. While shares of combustion engine maker Kirloskar Oil Engines fell by 3.03 per cent to a low of Rs 576.25 during intra-day trading on the National Stock Exchange.
The 30-share benchmark ended at 75311.06 down by -424.9 points or by -0.56 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22795.9 down by -117.25 points or by -0.51 %.
The BSE Sensex touched intraday high of 75748.72 and intraday low of 75112.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 22921 and intraday low of 22720.30.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 2667.80,-6.07%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1082.95,-2.57%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 672.90,-2.46%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1643.05,-1.60%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 261.75,-1.52%), among others.
